The legacy Cisco (AnyConnect) Remote Access VPN solution will be decommissioned on November 11, 2021.

Users will no longer be able to login to the Cisco VPN after this date. All users should use the Prisma Access (GlobalProtect) VPN for remote access to MITnet. - https://ist.mit.edu/vpn

Monitoring
IS&T has determined that the Cisco AnyConnect VPN service has reached the limits of its hardware capacity. VPN users are advised to begin using MIT's new Prisma Access VPN service.

IS&T will begin retiring the Cisco AnyConnect service this summer. Further announcements will be made as the schedule is finalized.

Investigating
IS&T is aware of some users experiencing problems establishing a session to the MIT Remote Access VPN (Cisco/AnyConnect) after authentication.

Note: Users can use the new (beta) Prisma Access VPN service while IS&T investigates if they are among those experiencing the issue.
