Update
Code 42 believes they identified the root cause of the issue impacting backups for a small percentage of Crashplan users and are in the process of rolling out a fix. The fix is expected to automatically remediate the condition within the next 72 hours. If your Crashplan client reports "Backup running" or "Backup complete" rather than remaining stuck in the "Synchronizing" state, then your device should be in the clear.

Identified
The Code42 cloud platform supporting CrashPlan backup for MIT desktop users is currently experiencing a service outage affecting multiple organizations. Restores are not affected, but starting a few days ago backups to CrashPlan may not complete. Code42 is treating the outage as their highest priority issue and actively working on a resolution. We hope to provide an update on the status of the issue by the end of the day.
