sql.mit.edu was unavailable from 9:58 AM to 11:02 AM on Monday due to a hardware failure. The team provisioned a new replica and data is again redundant, but ongoing work remains to fully restore service. While sql.mit.edu operates in degraded mode, no automatic nightly backups of user's databases will be performed. The team expects nightly backups to be restored by the end of the week.

One of the sql.mit.edu servers has experienced a hardware failure and caused sql.mit.edu to become unavailable at 9:58 AM. Service was restored at 11:02 AM by failing over sql.mit.edu to a backup server. Unfortunately, sql.mit.edu is currently operating with only a single server, so service remains at risk until redundant servers are restored. While sql.mit.edu operates in degraded mode, no automatic nightly backups of user's databases will be performed.
