The VPN Client software (AnyConnect) which is made available on the VPN devices, will be upgraded to the latest version. Upon completion, systems running older versions of the VPN client will auto-update to the upgraded version when a new VPN connection is established.

Existing VPN sessions will not be disconnected, and no outage is expected.

Users wishing to upgrade their VPN client software prior to the scheduled date, can manually download and install the latest version of AnyConnect from the IS&T Software Grid. - https://ist.mit.edu/software-hardware

Installing the latest version prior to the scheduled upgrade will not prevent users from connecting to the VPN.
