We will be restarting the AFS servers in the athena.mit.edu and net.mit.edu AFS cells, in order to upgrade to the latest version of the OpenAFS server software. During the restart AFS clients (including web.mit.edu, www.mit.edu, and scripts.mit.edu) will be unable to access files stored on the AFS servers. If all goes well the outage should be about 10 minutes.

Scheduled - The Buy-to-Pay (B2P) production environment will be unavailable starting on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 6:00 pm. During this time, the B2P system will be upgraded to Release 21 - see https://vpf.mit.edu/b2p-release-21 for additional details. The system is expected to be available again by 6:00 am on Monday, September 17, 2018. An announcement will be posted on the B2P homepage (https://buying.mit.edu) once the system is available for use.

Scheduled - On Wednesday, September 12th at 9pm, the SSL certificate for MIT's Exchange email and calendaring service will be updated. As part of this update, the issuing certificate authority (CA) will change from GeoTrust to InCommon. InCommon SSL certificates are widely used at MIT and no disruption is expected, but please contact the IS&T Service Desk to report any issues.
