Monitoring - The vendor has confirmed the issue with the iOS version of UC-One Communicator. Investigating - IS&T has received reports that community members using the UC-One Communicator iOS mobile app (an app used to make/receive calls from MIT phone numbers on iOS devices) are experiencing trouble with authentication and call connection. We are investigating these reports and will provide additional information as we learn more.

While the iOS mobile app is being addressed, members of the community have the option to download and install the UC-One Communicator app on other devices at https://ist.mit.edu/broadsoft/communicator

Scheduled - IS&T will perform maintenance on the AFS servers in the athena.mit.edu and net.mit.edu AFS cells. During parts of the maintenance window, AFS clients (including web.mit.edu, www.mit.edu, and scripts.mit.edu) will be unable to access files stored on the AFS servers. If all goes well the the work will be completed in 20-30 minutes. As part of the maintenance IS&T will be upgrading the OpenAFS server software from version 1.6 to 1.8.

Identified - On 6/22/2022 Microsoft released an update to Outlook for Mac, Android and iOS that is preventing some users from syncing email to MIT's On-Premise Exchange environment. It also is preventing users from syncing email to Gmail, Yahoo and iCloud email accounts. Microsoft is working on a fix to this bug. At this time, please do not install updates to Outlook for Mac or Outlook for iOS until Microsoft has released a new fix.

Scheduled - The fiber optic connections that allow backup-L and oc11-bk-ent-1 to communicate with tape drives will undergo maintenance (a firmware upgrade). If all goes well, the work will take around an hour. However, if there are issues we may need to work with our vendor to resolve them, and that will take longer.
Please note that restore processes on backup-L and oc11-bk-ent-1 may fail if they are reading a tape during certain portions of this work. This work will not affect desktop restores via Code42/Crashplan.
