On Tuesday January 22, 2019 between 7AM-9:30AM, many student systems will be unavailable due to maintenance. High impact applications that will be unavailable include Add/Drop, cross-registration, MITSIS, and Subject Proposal Management. All student systems should be available by 9:30AM on January 22.

Scheduled - SAP cloud components of the MIT Warehouse will be unavailable this weekend, between 5PM on Friday, January 11 and 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 12. During this service outage, updates will be applied to warehouse software components and testing will be conducted against the updated warehouse environment. While this work is taking place, access to MIT Warehouse Enrollment Management and Powerfaids data will not be available. SAP related data will be available, however, it will reflect activity as of Friday (January 11) morning. Updated MIT Warehouse data is expected to become available Sunday (January 13) morning. Scheduled - On Thursday, January 10, between noon and 5pm, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) will be performing maintenance on the automated tape library (ATL) that TSM uses to store server backups. The goal of this work is to upgrade the firmware on the ATL, so that we can use tapes that hold more data per tape.

During the maintenance window, the ATL will be intermittently unavailable; when it is unavailable, restore requests and archive creation requests may be delayed or fail due to the inability to reach a tape. This work will not affect desktop backups made via CrashPlan.

Scheduled - The VPN Client software (AnyConnect) which is made available on the VPN devices, will be upgraded to the latest version. Upon completion, systems running older versions of the VPN client will auto-update to the upgraded version when a new VPN connection is established.

Existing VPN sessions will not be disconnected, and no outage is expected.

Users wishing to upgrade their VPN client software prior to the scheduled date, can manually download and install the latest version of AnyConnect from the IS&T Software Grid. - https://ist.mit.edu/software-hardware

Installing the latest version prior to the scheduled upgrade will not prevent users from connecting to the VPN.
